The 3 Days Sahara Desert Tour from Fes to Merzouga and back to Fes travels through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Admire the beautiful landscapes of Ziz Valley with its palm groves. Enjoy the sunset and sunrise on a camel´s back and sleep in tents.
At 8 in the morning we will pick you up at your hotel and head for Merzouga, across the Middle Atlas, a mountain range that extends 350 kilometers from the southwest to the northwest of the country. On the way, we will pass through towns such as Ifrane, known as the “Moroccan Switzerland” for the architecture of its houses, and Azrou, one of the most famous Berber cities in Morocco. We will cross the Ziz Valley and Gorges and pass through towns like Midelt and Erfoud. From Erfoud we will take a desert track until we reach Merzouga. We will spend the night in a hotel next to the desert entrance.
The second day we will dedicate to enjoy the most spectacular part of the eastern Sahara. We will enter the desert in a 4X4, visit nomadic villages, see an oasis and ride through the dunes of Erg Chebbi. Following the route we will visit the famous village of Khamlia where the Gnawa are, descendants of slaves from Africa, and enjoy their amazing folk music. At sunset we will return to the hotel to meet the camels that will take us to the Berber camp in the heart of the dunes, where we will have dinner and spend the night.
The last day begins with an unforgettable image, sunrise in the desert. After sunrise we will take the camels again to return to the hotel, where we will have breakfast and take a shower. On the way back to Fez we will pass through Tafilalt, Rissani (origin of the Alauí dynasty and former capital of the Alawish sultans), Azrou and Ifrane. In the Azrou National Park we will stop in the monkey forest, where you can observe and even feed them. We will arrive in Fez and transfer to your hotel.
